We are Designers of the Future. We have envisioned a Cleaner , Greener & more Prosperous Future. A future where young people engage their creativity to provide solutions to the Climate Change problem.

We are currently pursuing Nature based solutions to the climate change problem through our Tree & Flowers Nursery in Likoni , our Trees & flowers sales outlets in Likoni & Kombani and through our Food Forest in Ukunda.

Our efforts translates to Decent jobs for young people and immense benefits to the environment including Carbon sequestration, Landscape Restoration, Reduced Temperature,  Healthy soils & Biodiversity.

Founded with a passion for the environment and social transformation, Gardening Galore exists to harness commercial opportunities that create sustainable climate action.

Gardening Galore—established by Daughters of Destiny Children’s Trust and Stichting Likoni Onderneemt during the 2020 COVID lockdown in Mombasa—actively contributes to the circular economy through several innovative, impactful practices:

Turning Waste into Resources
They collect compostable organic waste (from an informal dump site by the nursery) and transform it into nutrient-rich compost for growing trees and flowers .

They also salvage discarded plastic containers—from packaging and nursery pots—and repurpose them to host seedlings instead of using new plastic . Together, these actions reduce landfill use and extract value from materials that would otherwise become waste.

Localized Production & Recycling
Waste (organic and plastic) generated locally is collected, sorted, and reprocessed on-site. This reduces transport emissions and keeps resources within the community loop .

Compost produced is reinvested into the nursery’s growth cycle, turning nutrients back into the soil in a regenerative loop.

Creating Green Jobs & Skills
The nursery created decent employment during a period of economic strain for at least 17 staff and others in the supply chain.

Staff are trained in composting, waste-sorting, tree propagation, and sustainable nursery management—empowering youth with green economy skills.

Environmental Restoration & Climate Action
By growing and planting trees and flowers, Gardening Galore helps sequester carbon, improve soil health, and increase biodiversity—key elements of a circular, regenerative model.

The initiative fights deforestation and climate change by integrating natural systems regeneration into a commercial venture.

Empowering Youth and Communities Through Environmental Innovation

Empowering Youth
We provide a dynamic platform for young men and women to apply their labour, creativity, and skills in building climate solutions through practical, hands-on experiences in environmental conservation and enterprise.
Supporting Land owners
We introduce agroforestry to rural landowners as an investment model for restoring ecosystems and generating income from idle or fallow land.
Mentorship and Business Training
Through internships, volunteering, and employment, we mentor youth in the practical aspects of entrepreneurship, environmental stewardship, and sustainability-focused business operations
